•》BETWEEN REALITY AND FANTASY《•

While traveling, she mainly works with watercolor and gouache, or whatever she can find at hand - from a star-patterned ballpoint pen to pine bark found in the forest. When time and space allow, she also reaches for oil or acrylic paints.

Professionally, she has focused primarily on illustration for the game and animation industry - collaborating on international projects such as the Oscar-nominated animated film Loving Vincent and the popular card game Magic: the Gathering.

Still, it is in her personal sketchbooks, self-portraits, and plein-air works created “here and now” that she finds the greatest sense of peace and fulfillment.

INKU Incubator of Creative Sectors warmly invites you to the opening of an exhibition showcasing the work of Iga Oliwiak, taking place on August 8, 2025 at 6:00 PM and closing event on 29.08.2025.

Iga Oliwiak is an artist, traveler, and illustrator born in Szczecin, a graduate of the Academy of Art, living a nomadic lifestyle and documenting the world through sketchbooks, paintings, photography, and video.

The exhibition, titled “Between the Reality & Fantasy”, is divided into two parts:

》REALITY《

Presents the artist’s personal painted sketchbooks and selected plein-air works from the past ten years of her life and travels. This is a rare opportunity to flip through her original visual diaries - available for viewing only during the opening (August and the closing event (August 29).

Focuses on illustrations inspired by cultures from around the world, celebrating beauty and diversity through a lens of imagination. Full of color, magic, and light - some of these pieces will even glow under UV light, adding a surreal, otherworldly dimension to the experience
